Description
Understorey tree up to 11 m tall and 9 cm dbh. Stipules ca. 20 mm long,
narrow pointed. Leaves opposite, simple, penni-veined, hairy. Flowers ca. 14 mm
diameter, green-white, with corolla tube, flowers solitary in leaf axils. Fruits
ca. 17 mm diameter, green-yellow-orange, berries.
Ecology
In undisturbed to slightly disturbed (open) mixed dipterocarp forests up to
300 m altitude. Along rivers and streams, on hillsides and on ridges, with sandy
soils. Also on limestone. In secondary forests usually present as a
pre-disturbance remnant.
Distribution
Borneo (Sabah, East-Kalimantan).
