Cleistanthus erycibifolius Airy Shaw, Kew Bull. 20: 389 (1966)

Latin for 'with whitish powdery leaves', referring to whitish powdery lower leaves.

Sub-canopy tree up to 30 m tall and 37 cm dbh. Stipules small. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, whitish below, venation inconspicuous. Flowers ca. 1.5 mm diameter, greenish, placed in small bundles in leaf axils. Fruits ca. 10 mm long, green-brown, dehiscent, 3-lobed capsules.

In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp forests up to 100 m altitude. Usually on sandy ridges.

Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo (Sabah, East-Kalimantan), Philippines.
