Tree up to 40 tall. Leaves alternate, oblong, 20-30 cm long, dark green above, golden-silver below, secondary veins many, looping, clearly visible on lower surface. Flowers in bundles on branches, large, white. Fruits up to 10 cm diameter, green-yellowish with spines. Seeds without edible aril.

In lowland forests.

Possibly the timber is used.
