Macaranga endertii Whitmore

Trees up to ca. 30 m tall and 60 cm dbh, reproductive from 15 m tall and 12 cm dbh. Twigs solid, glabrous to hairy (short simple hairs only). Stipules triangular, usually semi-persistent, erect, 5-11 mm long by 1.5-3 mm wide. Petioles glabrous to hairy, up to 14 cm long. Leaves alternate, ovate, peltate, 5.5-17 cm long by 2.5-12 cm wide, length/width ratio 1.42-2.29; secondary veins 5-11, ending in the margin or not (looping); leaf base rounded, peltate margin length 0.3-1.8 cm; leaf margin with glands; leaf upper surface glabrous; leaf lower surface glabrous to hairy on veins, densely gland dotted. Staminate inflorescences branched; flowers clustered per bracteole; bracteoles with entire margin. Pistillate inflorescences branched; fruits 3-4 mm wide, 2-locular, whole fruit covered by glands.

Ecology: Collected up to ca. 200 m altitude. In primary and secondary forests, usually on sun-exposed places. Restricted to limestone.

Distribution: Endemic for Borneo, where it has been collected in Sarawak and East-Kalimantan.
