Description
Understorey tree up to 20 m tall and 35 cm dbh. Stipules absent. Leaves
alternate, simple, penni-veined. Flowers ca. 7 mm long petals, green-white,
fragrant, placed solitary or in small bundles on branches (usually leaf
opposed). Fruitlets ca. 20 mm long, green to brown, placed in apocarp, each
fruitlet with several seeds.
Ecology
Undisturbed forests up to 1100 m altitude, but usually below 500 m. Usually
in mixed dipterocarp forests, but sometimes present in keranga forest. Often
found on hillsides and ridges, often on sandy soils.
Distribution
Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah, East- and Central-Kalimantan).
