Description
Mid-canopy tree up to 40 m tall and 47 cm dbh. Stem with white to yellow
latex. Leaves opposite, simple, penni-veined, secondary veins placed close
together, upper surface with sunken midrib, glabrous. Flowers ca. 9 mm diameter,
white-yellow. Fruits ca. 15 mm diameter, orange, fleshy drupes.
Ecology
In open and closed vegetation types including thickets, mixed dipterocarp,
keranga and sub-montane forests up to 1600 m altitude. Usually on hillsides and
ridges with sandy to ultrabasic soils.
Uses
The wood is used.
Distribution
Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo (throughout the island).
