Mid-canopy tree up to 37 m tall and 48 cm dbh. Stipules absent to present? Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined. Flowers ca. 6 mm in diameter, white-yellowish, placed in panicles. Fruits ca. 26 mm long, green-brownish, densely hairy, fleshy drupe.

Undisturbed forests up to 1200 m altitude, but usually below 600 m. Often on hillsides and ridges. In secondary forests usually present as pre-disturbance remnants.

Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java and Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah and East-Kalimantan).
